What kind of church is right across the street from the best university in the land?
Welcoming. Diverse. Open. Those are some of the terms commonly used to describe UBC. While some churches seem to divide people into 'us' and 'them' categories, UBC is open to all – just like God's love is. We are open to all kinds of people, all kinds of experiences, all kinds of questions and learning.
Come check us out. You will find people from all around the globe. Different ages, different politics, different family and faith situations. Sunday morning worship is a good place to start, or get involved with any of our other programs.
But you'll also find people who try to talk the talk and walk the walk. UBC has had a long history of engagement in civil rights, social justice and other types of advocacy. We are called to welcome others and make a difference in the world.
Being across the street from a major university also means we have the opportunity to have people passing through the church at interesting times in their lives – times that can be exciting and frustrating. We offer our care and concern to those passing through our doors, if even for a very short period of time during their lives.
Services are Sundays at 10:30 a.m. - All are welcome, please join us!
Advent begins Sunday, November 30th! To help you prepare, we offer you this devotional, prepared by our congregational members:
